Mathieu Sun — known in the tradition as Sky Element — was born in Paris into a family of energy practitioners and was authorised to teach Jnana Kanda within the living Balinese lineage of Grand Master Mahaguru Mangku Alit Ajna. Authority in this tradition is not a certificate you buy: it is given by the lineage holder after years of purification, offerings and service. Bali, and the Long Preparation
The path led to Bali, an island where the sacred is not reserved for Sunday. Offerings are placed every morning, water is honoured as an ancestor, and temples sit inside daily life. There he was received into the lineage of Grand Master Mahaguru Mangku Alit Ajna, and there the preparation happened in the traditional order: melukat purification, offerings, service, then transmission. Nothing was accelerated, because in this tradition nothing can be.

Within the tradition he carries the name Sky Element. Names of this kind are given, not chosen, and describe a quality a practitioner is asked to hold — in this case spaciousness: staying wide, clear and unhurried while another person settles.
