The Exhausted Empath's Guide to Clearing Stuck Emotions and Heavy Vibes

An empath clears stuck emotions in three movements: recognise, feel, release. First ask whether the emotion is yours or absorbed. Then let it move through the body — breath, sound, tears, gentle movement — instead of holding it in the head. Finally release it into water or earth with a clear intention. Emotions stay stuck when they are resisted or stored for others. A Jnana Kanda session supports the deeper layers by purifying the field and letting sacred energy dissolve what is ready to go.
If you are an exhausted empath, you probably know the feeling of being full — full of other people's sadness, full of tension that never got expressed, full of heavy vibes you can't name. You may cry without knowing why, or not be able to cry at all. This guide is for you.
Why emotions get stuck in empaths
- You feel others so strongly that your own emotions get pushed aside.
- You hold back your feelings to keep the peace or to take care of everyone.
- You absorb emotions that aren't yours and can't process them because they have no story in your life.
- You live in your head, analysing feelings instead of letting them move.
An emotion is energy in motion. When it moves, it passes. When it is resisted, stored or carried for someone else, it becomes a weight — in the chest, the throat, the stomach or the shoulders.
Step 1 — Recognise: is this mine?
Sit quietly, put a hand on your chest and ask: “Is this mine?” Notice the first response of the body — a softening, a tightening, an image. Absorbed emotions often feel foreign, sudden or disconnected from your life. Your own emotions usually have a story. Both deserve kindness, but absorbed ones can be released more directly.
Step 2 — Feel it in the body
Instead of thinking about the emotion, locate it. Where is it? What shape, temperature or weight does it have? Breathe into that place. Let the exhale be long and audible. If sound wants to come, let it — a sigh, a hum, a moan. If tears come, welcome them. Shake your hands, roll your shoulders, sway. The body knows how to let emotions move when we stop holding them.
Step 3 — Release it into nature
In Bali, what is heavy is given to water. Melukat, the sacred water purification, is the first step of Jnana Kanda for this reason. You can do a simple version: in the shower, in the sea, or by a river, imagine the emotion leaving your body and flowing away with the water. Or give it to the earth: hands on the ground, breathe out, and let it sink. Finish with a moment of gratitude.
“An emotion is energy in motion. Let it move, and it will pass.”
Clearing heavy vibes from your life
- Limit news and social media that leave you heavy.
- Spend time with people who make you laugh.
- Put music on that lifts you and move to it for five minutes.
- Write down what weighs on you, then tear or burn the page safely.
- Keep flowers, light and fresh air in your home.
When emotions are too old or too deep
Some emotions have been stored for years. They don't always respond to self-practice, and that is normal. In a session, I work as a channel of the Jnana Kanda lineage of Grand Master Mahaguru Mangku Alit Ajna. Nothing is forced and you don't need to tell me your whole story. The sacred energy moves where it is needed, and what is ready to leave, leaves. People often feel emotion rising and then a deep peace, like a sky after rain. If a strong or painful emotional state lasts, please also reach out to a psychologist or your doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Is it normal to cry during an energy session?
Yes, very. Tears are one of the body's natural ways of releasing. Many people also laugh, yawn or feel very sleepy.
Do I need to talk about my past?
No. You can share what you want, but the energy work does not depend on words.
How will I feel after clearing stuck emotions?
Lighter, calmer, sometimes tired for a few hours, then clearer. Drink water and rest that day.
