Feeling Overwhelmed by Places and People? How to Reset Your Energy Field

To reset your energy field, bring it back to your body and back to nature. Step away from the place or person, touch water, stand on the earth, lengthen your exhale and let a simple sound — a hum or a bell — settle your system. Ten minutes is often enough. Places and people hold atmospheres; a sensitive field takes them on, and a reset returns you to your own frequency. When overwhelm is constant, a Jnana Kanda session helps reset the field at a deeper level.

Maybe it is a shopping centre, a hospital corridor, an old house or a tense family home. Maybe it is one particular person. You arrive fine and within minutes you feel scattered, anxious, dizzy or on the verge of tears. You are not imagining it: places and people carry atmospheres, and a sensitive field picks them up.

Why places affect you

In Bali, every place is understood to have its own spirit and energy. That is why temples are purified, why offerings are placed at crossroads and why a new house is blessed before anyone moves in. Places absorb what happens in them — conflict, grief, joy, prayer. A sensitive person walks into that atmosphere and feels it immediately.

Why some people affect you

People carry their own weather. Someone in deep stress, anger or sadness radiates it, even with a smile. If your field is open and your centre is not anchored, you tune in to their weather and start to live it as if it were yours.

The 10-minute energy field reset

  1. Step out: leave the room, go outside or at least to a window. Distance matters.
  2. Water: wash your hands and face slowly, or run cold water over your wrists. Intend to release everything that isn't yours.
  3. Earth: put your feet on the ground — barefoot if possible — and feel your weight going down.
  4. Breath: inhale for four, exhale for eight, five times. Let the shoulders drop.
  5. Sound: hum gently with your mouth closed for a minute. Sound reorganises the field; in Bali, bells and chants do the same.
  6. Return: place a hand on your heart and say your own name inwardly. You are back in your field.
“You are allowed to leave a room to find yourself again.”

Preventing overwhelm

  • Before entering a heavy place, set an intention and ground yourself for one minute.
  • Limit time with people who consistently drain you, and meet them in nature when you can.
  • Keep your home clear: fresh air, light, flowers, simple order.
  • Spend time every week in places that nourish you — the sea, a forest, a garden.

A deeper reset with Jnana Kanda

When overwhelm has become your normal, the field needs more than a quick reset. In a session in the lineage of Grand Master Mahaguru Mangku Alit Ajna, I act as a channel: we purify the layers you have collected from places and people, realign you with nature, and let sacred energy restore your own frequency. Many clients tell me that afterwards the same places feel neutral again. For the tradition behind it, read What Is Jnana Kanda?.

Frequently asked questions

Can a house hold negative energy?

Many traditions, including the Balinese one, say yes: places keep the imprint of what happens in them. Fresh air, light, cleaning and a sincere blessing make a real difference.

Why do I feel dizzy in shopping centres?

Noise, artificial light, crowds and the lack of natural air overload a sensitive nervous system. Short visits and a reset afterwards help a lot. If dizziness is frequent, check with your doctor too.

Can I reset my field at work?

Yes. Cold water on the wrists, a short walk outside and the long exhale are discreet and effective.
